Future Plans - Is your Branch planning technical or professional activities, setting up a Branch e-mail address, sponsoring any Section/Branch joint activities? Provide details:

For the next year our branch is planning to take part in organization and participation in the IEEE-Siberian conference of students, post-graduate students and young researches SIBEDEM-2004 (April 14-15, 2005, technical co-sponsorship of ED-S), Symposium on Advances of Measurement Science (St.-Petersburg, 30 June - 2 July 2004), Int. IEEE Siberian Conference on Control and Communications SIBCON 2005 (Tomsk, 21-22 October, 2005). This is the main events of our branch activities. Other planning activities of our SB for the next year are:

- providing information at the TPU about IEEE and benefits of IEEE student membership;
- recruiting new branch members;
- participating in the Student Paper Contest;
- making contacts with other SBs.

Student Branch Counselor: Yes, branch Counselor helped us in organizing conferences, provided information on IEEE awards and events, took part in our meetings. He regularly consults us in different questions.

Department Chairman: Small consultative assistance.

Section: not yet (Siberia Section are in formation)

Regional Student Activities Committee Chair: Yes, he helped our chair to take an active part in the 3rd IEEE Region 8 Student Branch Congress in Cairo

Student Services at Headquarters: Yes, they provided us information on different questions on our demands.

How can we help you to improve?

The primary purpose of our Branch as a student organization is attracting new student members. The specific goals for coming years are participating in student conferences and contests, promotion IEEE activities in Siberia and looking for a sponsorship of our events. We have not a Branch Chapter, but we are planning to create Chapter on Communications and Computers.

Our Student Branch never had financial support from IEEE entities. So we are expected for financial support of our conferences as well as some travel grants for R8 representatives, participated in our conferences.
