In January 2005 the Tomsk Joint Chapter was celebrated of it fifth Anniversary. During this month, we have organized several different activities, such workshop "Join the IEEE!" and Conference on communications. We visited all technical universities with membership promotion campaign and awareness of SB members to give speeches to the students on the benefits of the IEEE. This will also involve the distribution of promotional materials that will be sent to the Branch by IEEE Headquarter. As part of the promotion, a 40 % discount on student dues will be offered to those intending to join. Also we organized free on-line access for our members to explore the benefits of the IEEE to students and how to use the IEEE website efficiently as most of the benefits are web-based.
