IEEE YP Siberia and Tomsk Chapter has been organized a Professional Workshop on Improving your Presentation Skills.
The program of workshop consists of introductory talk led by Professor
Alexander Shelupanov, Vice-Rector in Research of TUSUR. Dmitry Zykov,
the Chair of IEEE Tomsk Chapter encouraged the audience regarding
self-development. Then he gave a presentation about the IEEE activity
including STEP program. Dmitry's pragmatic teaching style and engaging
sense of humor are on display throughout the power formula for success, and he
shares many specific examples, stories, and illustrations that are the
direct result of thirty years experience in teaching.
Next participants gave the excellent presentations on the fundamental works
regarding the delivery and preparation process of a presentation,
illustrating the "six W": Who is the audience; What is the topic (what
I want the audience to remember); Why am I doing this (motivation); Where will it be done (venue); When how much time I have for preparing; and the Way in which the message is delivered (flip-chart, projector, etc). Participants demonstrated different forms of presentation using personal,
marketing undertone, and corporate ready-made style. This was followed by
group discussion on both the strengths and weaknesses of them.
After the lectures there was time for the social part of the event, during
which participants could get to know each other and share their ideas
and experience.
