IEEE Tomsk Student Branch has successfully organized a promotional workshop on 18th of May 2005. The workshop was attended mainly by final year students and postgraduate students who were interested to learn more about new technologies. The fast development of Tomsk Chapter has become an essential element for promoting the IEEE. Our talks focuses on explaining what the IEEE is about, the voluntary spirit, the commitment and the team work.

In Tomsk science and technology play a very important role in the socio-economical development of the region. Therefore, the creation of the IEEE Student Branch at TPU and TUSUR is crucial for the success of the challenges the university is facing today.

The IEEE organization offers the possibility of accessing a huge electronic library containing various kinds of materials like books, scientific articles, research papers, magazines, and online courses. These resources are essential for the achievement of scientific or technological progress. Our student branches is formed to provide the students with some benefits such as:

participate in educational, technical, and professional activities such as research projects, meetings, and tours;
competition between students in domains like web services, robotics and IT applications;
participate to international award competitions, scholarships and project or design programs;
participate to technical English trainings.

Our YP Affinity Group is working on a two-day workshop that discusses various techniques used to accelerate the learning process, an approach to make education an easier and more loved procedure done by students, and to help students enrich their minds with diverse knowledge.
