We give away free admission or special discounts to our student members to every activity organized by IEEE Tomsk Chapter such as workshops, talks, seminars, trips and etc. We provide certificates to all student members in recognition of your membership.

For the best work in the Tomsk IEEE Chapter & SB committees your IEEE membership fees will be partially subsidized. We also provide free admission to our annual dinner. Certificates will also be issued in recognition of your hard work and dedication to the student branch and chapter. Also you can receive the following.

Student membership prices reflect the 50% discount on all society memberships and the 25% discount on optional society publications;
Student members receiving their first professional degree after 1990 may qualify for the graduated dues plan with discounted dues for five years after graduation, designed to easily fit into the young engineer's budget;

Networking – meeting members and industry leaders to discuss today's technical and professional issues;

Another advantage is that IEEE services are not too expensive for a personal subscription (and even cheaper when you are a student or a PhD student) when compared to other professional societies.

Even though it is a professional society, IEEE also offers dedicated journals and magazines for students or even written by students as Potentials. Moreover, student branches offer specific advantages such as funding of student activities, easy contacts between student branches, participation to "best papers contests"; and a first contact with professional responsibilities for those who are running the branch.

All Tomsk IEEE Student Members automatically become SB Members of TUSUR or TPU. IEEE Student Branches organises technical events, careers events, and social events - which are open to the entire student body. The branches is primarily aimed at undergraduates and postgraduates of electronics and computer science disciplines, but is also open to students of a wide range of sciences and engineering.

Want to help run the student branch?

Joining the IEEE SB committee is a unique opportunity to be involved in a number of activities that help promote your teamwork and/or leadership skills. In addition it allows you to be involved in organising events which are of great benefit to the entire ECS population. Being a student branch committee member is well received by both academia and industry.

You can shape your own role within the SB. You will probably need to commit around one hour per week on average. You can chose to be involved in a variety of different activities including events, marketing, web design and if you continue your involvement into the following year you can even start your own activity stream!
