Our mission is:

to provide undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in the Electrical and Electronics or related engineering professions with opportunities for educational, technical and professional development in preparation for entry into the profession;

to organize technical meetings of high quality and relevance and facilitate professional networks among its members;

to bring students in touch with the diverse world of electronics and to prepare them for the industry in a better way by giving them a chance to develop their interests;

Encourage youth to be proactive and take the responsibility, promotes the process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge on technologies and sciences for the benefit of humanity.

The Tomsk IEEE Student Branch mission statement consists of the following:

- promote and support IEEE Membership in the Tomsk Universities;
- organize and support international events at Tomsk Universities
- use the IEEE worldwide network to help students find an internship, exchange program or other practical assignment abroad;
- participate in Region 8 activities;
- cooperate with fellow student organizations at the university to enable students to gain an insight into their possibilities within and after university and to develop a multi-disciplinary view.

The Student Branch is completely run by students. Besides the board, there are number of students active in several areas. However the number of members is approximately 20. Tomsk Student Branch has its unique energy to develop.

When you are looking for a comprehensive study or you would like to feel like in team, then an organization such as IEEE Student Branches is a good choice for you. Before graduation, you are going to widen your view and be experienced on variety of tasks. They will come in hand after your graduation and during your carrier. But especially working together with other students is fun.
Being an active member doesn't have to take much time. In fact, the branches create a valuable time for your own progress. On the other hand you are going to decide how much time you would like to invest. You can organize seminars, conferences on specific contents, company visits or prepare papers for the magazine.

The IEEE primarily targets students electrical engineering, but there is a large overlay with related studies as computer science, applied physics or mathematical science. The Tomsk SB mainly focuses on senior students, who more or less already elected their specialization. As each study at the university has its own well-organized association, which organizes lectures, excursions, study related meetings and social events, we do not cover the whole scope of possibilities to organize for our members.

Cooperation with local study associations help us to achieve our goals. The Tomsk SB connects the university, students, companies & fellow study associations together to increase interaction and to bend stereotyping views of the engineer in general.

IEEE is strongly international orientated. This allows you as a member to visit international congresses and to meet other students from all over the world. If you want to do something different from your lectures or have interesting ideas to come up with, Tomsk Student Branch is here to realize. The Student Branch is opened to all the Tomsk University's IEEE members who would participate.
